Since the beginning of time, food production is one of the primary activities of mankind. Even though today the technology has improved the production of food drastically, there are still enormous challenges in front of us. The world population is still growing and only 11% of our surface can be used for agriculture, the climate is changing which presents new challenges regarding water and nutrient management and lastly, the policy concerning agriculture can change every few years.
Therefore, Lumbricus will be part of the solution. We will use knowledge and data to improve our standards and make sure that all people in the world can have enough food, that is of the highest quality and is produced in the most sustainable way.

Sports and Turf
Wherever you are in the world, people will always play sports. Therefore, it is our goal to make sure that the quality of the field or course is always at its best. Whether it is a small golf course or a large international soccer stadium, we will help you get the best quality possible. Not only does the quality need to be optimal for the games we play, but the way we get to that quality needs to be sustainable and affordable. Furthermore, not only do these fields and courses provide direct value, they also provide indirect value to society. For example, soccer fields in cities have been shown to be vital in combatting the heat island effect, and golf courses are wonderful natural environments for numerous indigenous animals and plant species.
Public Sector
We often forget how much of our environment consists of public spaces. Whether this is the local park or the dikes that protect us from the dangers of increasing sea levels and intense precipitation. In our parks we want to see beautiful plants and animals to be able to relax from our daily lives. And therefore, the soil, the water management and the ecology needs to be combined in such a way, that this is possible and to prevent unnecessary problems. For dikes it is important that they are strong when they need to be. However, this is often not the case. Therefore, we help design dikes from the bottom up. We analyse the characteristics of the soil, the plants that are needed to make the dikes strong and ecologically friendly, and we make maintenance plans to maintain this quality in the future.
